Trying to make the world a better place…
Have you ever noticed this?
Something negative happens and it instantly becomes the headline.
The comments explode.
The engagement spikes.
The outrage fuels the algorithm.
Meanwhile…
Great people doing great things?
Quiet leadership?
Parents doing it the right way?
Coaches building confidence instead of ego?
Those stories barely make a ripple.
Why?
Because negativity is loud.
Because outrage is addictive.
Because it’s easier to react than to reflect.
But here’s the part that bothers me most:
When we constantly spotlight bad behavior, we unintentionally teach it.
We normalize it.
We reward it with attention.
And in youth sports, and honestly in life, that trickles down fast.
Kids are watching.
Parents are watching.
Coaches are watching.
What if we flipped it?
What if we highlighted:
• Character over chaos
• Standards over noise
• Development over drama
• Accountability over excuses
The world doesn’t change by calling out everything that’s broken.
It changes by modeling what “right” actually looks like.
That’s the work.
That’s the hard part.
That’s the long game.
And that’s the lane I’m committed to staying in.
