Introducing Jenny Levy, UNC’s Successful Coach and Our Girls’ Lacrosse Ambassador

After North Carolina national championship which capped a 22-0 season, it’s the perfect time to introduce our girls’ lacrosse ambassador, Jenny Levy.
Levy, the only head coach in University of North Carolina Women’s Lacrosse history, has built a powerhouse program, leading the Tar Heels to eight ACC titles and four NCAA national championships.
In 1994, at just 24 years old, Levy became one of the youngest rookie college coaches in the sport when she took over the new women’s lacrosse program at UNC. Under her leadership, the Tar Heels claimed their first national title in 2013, followed by championships in 2016 and 2022. Levy is one of only four people to both play on and coach a national championship women’s lacrosse team, earning her title as a player at Virginia in 1991.
Over the course of her career, Levy has been named IWLCA National Coach of the Year three times, ACC Coach of the Year seven times, inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2021 and appointed head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Lacrosse Team — all while raising three children.
She now balances an elite coaching career with parenting three college athletes: her sons, Ryan and Alec, play for the UNC men’s lacrosse team, and her daughter, Kate — a freshman — plays for her. This weekend, Levy is not only coaching in the Final Four, but also watching her daughter take the field on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
