Alpha Girl Confidence

What it is: Hosted by Shay Haddow, a confidence coach and former Division I athlete, this podcast focuses on building mental toughness and self-belief in young female athletes. Episodes cover topics like overcoming perfectionism, dealing with comparison and developing leadership skills.

Why we like it: Haddow's personal experience and professional expertise provide relatable and actionable advice. Her commitment to empowering girls through confidence-building makes this podcast a valuable resource for athletes and their support systems.

The Elite Competitor Podcast

What it is: Hosted by confidence coach Breanne Smedley, this podcast is all about helping girl athletes build a strong mindset—and helping their parents know what to say (and not say) along the way. Each episode blends sports psychology, parenting wisdom and real-life examples from the field, court, or pool.

Why we like it: Smedley has a gift for making complex mental training tools feel simple and doable. Whether your daughter is struggling with self-doubt, perfectionism or pressure, this podcast gives both of you language and strategies to handle it together. It’s the kind of resource that helps parents shift from problem-solving to empowering—so your athlete can grow, not just as a player, but also as a confident young woman.

Female Athlete Nutrition

What it is: Hosted by Lindsey Elizabeth Cortes, a sports dietitian for NCAA, professional and elite youth athletes, Female Athlete Nutrition focuses on helping female athletes fuel their bodies properly, develop a healthy relationship with food and build strength in both mind and body. Cortes shares her expertise on female-specific nutrition, training, body image, and mindset—critical tools for any girl serious about performing at her highest level.

Why we like it: This podcast is especially valuable for parents of older athletes—high schoolers, college-bound players and teens training at a competitive level—who are navigating higher physical demands and bigger pressures. Cortes' practical, compassionate advice helps families understand how under-fueling can limit health and performance and how to foster habits that support longevity and confidence. It’s a must-listen for anyone wanting to keep their daughter strong, healthy and thriving both on and off the field.

The Strong Female Athlete Podcast

What it is: Hosted by Erica Suter Mulholland, a longtime strength and conditioning coach and author,  The Strong Female Athlete Podcast focuses on empowering young female athletes to thrive—physically, mentally and emotionally. Although Erica originally worked primarily in the soccer world, she has broadened her mission to support female athletes across all sports, offering guidance on training, performance, confidence, injury prevention, and overall well-being.

Why we like it: Suter Mulholland's perspective is rooted in years of hands-on experience with youth and teen athletes. She understands not just the technical aspects of strength and conditioning, but also the deeper challenges girls face around body image, resilience and long-term health. This podcast is a rare blend of research-backed expertise and relatable advice, making it an incredible resource for parents who want to support their daughters in becoming strong—on the field and far beyond it.

Show Your Scars
