Developing confidence is important in all facets of life and especially sports. Dealing with adversity and failure is part of sports — and life. How do you build confidence? And how do you get it back when you lose it? 

Confidence and mental toughness go hand in hand, but there’s a difference between the two. To help athletes, parents and coaches better understand confidence, Youth Inc. found some of the best sources from the Internet about confidence.

Why we like it: This post presents all the information and debunks several myths. We loved the explanation of the differences between the feeling of confidence and the attitude of mental toughness.

What it is: An inspirational message from the handle Expand Your Game. Short, sweet and to the point.  

Why we like it: This one really hits. We love simple, inspirational pieces of content and this one certainly fits the bill 

 

When Your Athlete Loses Confidence  

What is is: A terrific post from the website I Love to Watch You Play. This post breaks down what to do when an athletes lose confidence and steps to take to help them get out of a rut. 

Why we like it: This post identifies what it looks like when an athlete loses confidence and then goes into detail about what to do. We lose the information about communication, positive self-talk and setting achievable goals.  

Maybe it's Just This Simple 

What it is: A simple but informative TikTok post from a young woman who shares tips to boosting confidence. 

Why we like it: Talking straight to camera while putting on her makeup, this post is very relatable. Keep it simple, don’t overthink and practice positive self-talk. Those are some quick tips that can help just about everyone.  

 

What Do the Pros Do to Keep Their Confidence High?  

What it is: A successful professional women’s soccer player shares her secrets for developing and maintaining confidence in an effective TikTok post. 

Why we like it: We love the style and delivery of this young woman. She uses her own daily affirmations to bring home her points, which is an excellent touch.
