Summer is here and it’s time to turn your backyard into a playground. Whether you're hanging with family, friend, or teammates, these games bring the perfect mix of competition and fun.
Cornhole
Cornhole is a backyard classic! Practice your aim, hand-eye coordination and throwing skills by tossing bean bags onto the opposite board. Rules can be tailored to fit any age for a fun, competitive game.
Wiffle Ball
Think baseball, but with less gear and more backyard-friendly fun. All you need is a plastic bat, a wiffle ball and some makeshift bases – shoes, cones or water bottles will do that trick. There are official rules and leagues, but feel free to tailor the game to your squad.
Kan Jam
Partner up and try to slot or deflect a frisbee into a can. It can be high-energy competition or a chill backyard hang.
Spikeball
A trampoline-like net and a small ball are all you need for this high-energy, volleyball-style game. Want fast-paced action? You’ve got it. Prefer a laid-back rally? That works, too. Perfect for the beach or the backyard.
This Playlist from Spikeball covers all of the rules on how to play:
Capture the Flag
Perfect for bigger groups and tons of energy. Divide into teams, mark your territories, hide your flags and strategize your way to victory. Ideal for kids and teens of all ages.
Kickball
An all-time favorite. Combine soccer and baseball for a game that’s easy to set up and fun for all ages.

Badminton
A low-key, high-fun racquet game. Play one-on-one or in teams – you are only limited by the number of rackets you have. It’s light enough for younger kids but still challenging enough to keep adults engaged.
Water Balloon Fight
On a hot summer day, nothing beats this one. Cool off and get competitive with a good old-fashioned water balloon showdown. Just don’t forget to clean up!
