Coach RAC of the Savannah Bananas and Coach Ballgame are taking youth baseball by storm with the Crashin’ Practice Contest presented by Players Health. The contest, which just opened, gives one Little League team, school team (middle or high school), or club team the chance to have RAC and Ballgame crash their practice and turn an ordinary day on the field into an unforgettable experience full of energy, fun, and life lessons. They will run games, offer hands-on coaching, and distribute prizes from Academy Sports + Outdoors and Under Armour.

There are two ways to enter the Crashin' Practice Contest:

  1. The first is through the simple entry form on this page.
  2. The second is through Instagram, where players, parents, and coaches can submit a video of their best trick play, dance moves or a lip sync to a favorite baseball movie scene. Post it, tag @youthinc and include #CrashinPracticeContest.

To celebrate the launch of Crashin' Practice, Coach RAC and Coach Ballgame joined Greg on the Youth Inc. podcast to talk about the contest, youth baseball, and more. Watch the full episode here.

The Magic Behind Crashin' Practice

Coach RAC and Coach Ballgame are the magic behind Crashin' Practice. The combination of their missions makes for an incredible experience for kids, coaches, and parents alike. Ballgame, who posts his coaching endeavors on social media, shared his mission with Greg: "I've learned how to get kids to lock in, how to hang on every syllable, but most importantly, teach love of play and build character. That's what youth coaching is in my book... creating great humans and then the wins, the skill development is all a byproduct of that."

Kids play better when they’re feeling joy

Coach Ballgame

RAC believes the true magic of youth sports is that “you can have fun while playing baseball and still strive for excellence.”

He shared the spirit of Crashin' Practice: “There’s something special about a surprise and when you can pair that with some good life lessons and make a real impact in person, I think that it’s a winning idea.”

Greg, who had his practice crashed by the duo, shared his thoughts from the coach and parent perspective: "This is what they need. They need fun, they need light.”

The Goal of Crashin' Practice

The vision for the series is simple and heartfelt. As RAC said, “I am hoping we have the time of our lives.”

I want to show up and I want to be a kid with those kids.

Coach RAC

He laid out three goals for any practice they crash:

  1. They all have the time of their life
  2. The kids and coaches observe how practice is ran and take that into whatever teams they go onto in life
  3. Parents get more ideas for having fun and connecting with their children

Ballgame shared his secret for coaching kids: "They love something that feels like a birthday party and they love something when they know that coach cares about them as a human."

Coach RAC and Coach Ballgame are eager to start crashing practices across the country. Enter to win here!
