So, you want to get a good job when you graduate college. Athletes often have a leg up on the competition because of the skills and habits they develop while playing sports. After all, any organization could use good teammates, hard workers and people who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Here are four good resources on why athletes make good hires.

This CEO ONLY hires athletes, here's why

What it is: A TikTok video featuring Ben Katzman, an executive at a multi-billion dollar company, who says he only hires athletes.

Why we like it: We love what Katzman says in this relatable video: athletes doesn’t mean that you played a sport in college. It means someone who is willing to work hard, figure things out and wear many different hats.

Do Employers Care That I Was A D1 Athlete?

What it is: A reddit thread in which a former college athlete asks if it matters that he played a sport in college and whether or not to put it on his resume.

Why we like it: Not only is this thread very entertaining, it is also very conclusive. Yes, you should absolutely put the fact that you were a Division I athlete. It is one of the biggest things that will stand out.

From the Field to The Front Office

What it is: An article by Gregory Crawford, the president of Miami University of Ohio, on Forbes.com about why student-athletes are so sought after by employers.

Why we like it: Crawford articulately writes why athletes are so coveted by employers once their playing days are over. Some of the factors include passion, sacrifice and perspective.

6 Reasons Why Employers Want To Hire College Athletes

What it is: A story by Fred Bastie of Playced.co, a college recruiting service, for USA Today on the top six reasons employers want to hire college athletes.

Why we like it: Many of the reasons why employers love to hire college athletes may seem obvious but they ring true. Self-confidence, team work, mental toughness, resilience and time management are a few of the reasons.
