Craig reflected on his early days growing up in a tight-knit community, skating on backyard ponds, and learning the value of passion, commitment, and teamwork. He emphasized the importance of letting kids explore their dreams, embrace challenges, and understand that success often comes from the support and sacrifices of others around them.

You are what your dreams are, right? And I really think too many parents and coaches don't let people explore those dreams.

Craig shared his path from junior leagues to Boston University, illustrating how persistence and seizing opportunities shaped his career. The conversation also dove into the 1980 Olympic team and the preparation behind the Miracle on Ice. On Coach Herb, Craig said: he embraced that challenge. He had a plan. He recruited the right people."

On how they ultimately won their matchup against the Soviet Union? Craig said: "nobody was afraid of the moment."

He stressed that winning requires requires trust, cohesion, and a willingness to embrace challenges, lessons that extend beyond sports into life and youth development.

Finally, Craig discussed the evolution of hockey in the U.S., noting how opportunities have expanded nationwide, allowing young athletes from Florida, California, and other non-traditional regions to compete at the highest levels. He underscored the importance of passion, purpose, and preparation, encouraging young players to focus on their own development rather than fear of competition.
