Still in the Game: A New Podcast for Moms Who Refuse to Sit on the Sidelines

I’ve always believed that being an athlete doesn’t end when your competitive career does. It’s an identity, a way of moving through the world, and for many of us, especially moms, it’s a lifeline back to ourselves. That belief is the heartbeat of my brand-new podcast, "Still in the Game."
This show was born out of my own journey. I discovered triathlon at 43, qualified for Kona in 2019 and finally raced there in 2022. Alongside training, I was raising four kids, navigating work, marriage and all the curveballs life throws at us. I learned firsthand how hard it is to keep chasing big goals when the world tells you it’s time to slow down, step aside or shrink yourself.
The truth is, many women feel like they need permission to stay competitive, ambitious and strong once they become mothers. We’ve been conditioned to not put ourselves last. But I’ve come to believe the exact opposite: when we keep showing up for ourselves, we model resilience, joy and confidence for our kids.
That’s what this podcast is: a permission slip for moms everywhere. Permission to compete. Permission to lift heavy. Permission to set ambitious goals. Permission to make yourself a priority without guilt. Permission to stay in the game; whatever your game looks like right now.
And I couldn’t think of a better way to kick things off than with my first guest, Stephanie Bruce.
Stephanie is a professional runner, mom of two and someone who has always invited us behind the curtain of her life: the training highs, the struggles, the balancing act of being a mom and an athlete. She recently returned to racing after what was supposed to be her retirement season and watching her lace up again, fueled by grit, joy and unfinished business, perfectly embodies what this podcast is all about.
Stephanie is still in the game – literally and figuratively. And in doing so, she gives permission to the rest of us to hold onto our dreams, our goals, and our fire, even when life wants to pull us in a hundred different directions.
I cannot wait for you to listen to my conversation with Stephanie. She sets the tone for what’s to come: real, raw, inspiring stories from women who remind us that being “done” is a choice ... and not one we have to make.
So whether you’re chasing a marathon, picking up weights in your garage or simply trying to remember who you are outside of being “Mom,” this podcast is for you.
