Matthew Stafford on Staying Hungry, Getting Better & Being a Girl Dad
Stafford shares what the best coaches he has had all had in common, how to tell real success from a good stat line, being a girl dad to four, and what he would say to a kid stuck on a team that is not winning.
ONE THING FROM THE EPISODE
SIX INCHES MORE OUT IN FRONT
Greg asks how a guy in year eighteen still wants to be coached. Stafford says he sorts for the message and throws out the delivery, because how a coach says it matters a lot less than what they are actually asking him to do. Then comes the part that gives it away. He completes a pass in practice, a good one, and he is already thinking it should have been six inches further out in front. Nobody is harder on him than he is, which is why the rooms he plays best in are the collaborative ones.
