💡Dan Orlovsky and Greg Olsen Discuss Ins and Outs of Sports Parenting

There’s no manual to being a sports parent. With more choices, distractions and voices, it can be difficult to know where to turn. Sometimes a little tough love and old school values can be the answer.

In a fascinating conversation, former NFL players Dan Orlovsky and Greg Olsen went back and forth on what made them successful and how they’re both trying to help their kids find success in sports. While there isn’t one right way to do things, and every situation is different, both Orlovsky and Olsen agreed on one thing: kids need to be pushed.

ENTERTAIN

🤣 Cold Night, Loud Gym, A Dad’s Full Heart

Uploaded media

There’s nothing like the joy of watching your kid play sports, especially when the setting is so special. Youth Inc. co-founder Tim Murphy recently took it all in during his son’s high school basketball game and delivered a pitch-perfect account.

It was a cold January Friday night in the Northeast—the kind where the air feels sharp and the lights inside a high school gym glow a little warmer than usual. Inter-Ac conference play was tipping off, and two longtime rivals were meeting once again.
The gym was packed.

The energy was electric.

The student section showed up in full force, dressed head-to-toe for toga night, loud and fearless in the way only teenagers can be.

It was awesome.
